The inclusive PASTEL Cooking Club is aimed at reducing social isolation for those living in the Saxmundham area, of all ages, especially adults with additional needs eg adults with learning disabilities as well as those who are living alone and / or feeling a little stressed, anxious or depressed.
The informal and friendly club runs weekly on a Tuesday, from 10am to 1pm, at the Fromus Centre..
The PASTEL Cooking Club is a place to come and relax in a welcoming setting. We cover food hygiene and preparation, alongside simple cooking of hors d'oeuvres, various breads and pastas as well as cakes and salads in the summer .The cooking is in a small sociable group - learning life skills and making friends at the same time.
Each session ends with a communal review, as members sit down to enjoy the fruits of their labours!
The charge for each 3-hour session is £12, which covers the professional tutor, room hire, refreshments, the cooking ingredients and admin expenses.
Free “taster sessions” are available for potential newcomers joining the fun to see if its for them.
